Is smoking allowed during the center hours?

Smoking is allowed only in a designated area, and participants need to notify staff when going on a smoking break.

What does the Enrollment Process involve?

There are several steps to enrollment. They include completion of an application, a personal interview, current physical exam with the participant’s provider.

Can I drop off my loved one just when I need a break?

We do not provide drop-in respite care.

Does MCPA provide transportation?

Yes, MCPA provides round or one way transportation. The cost for one way is $10 and for round transportation is $20.

What meals do we provide?

We provide two meals, beverages and one snack per day. We create our menus in consultation with a dietician to ensure every meal is healthy and nutritious. Our cooks prepare most meals from scratch with as many fresh ingredients as possible.  We strive to provide both healthy and delicious meals. Special diets such as diabetic, low salt, can be accommodated.

What is a typical day like at MCPA?

Our daily schedule consists of structured activities such as music, art and drama. When participates arrive at the center, they have time where they are free to socialize with each other and staff. Once everyone has arrived at the center then we serve our first meal of the day. Meal time is 30 minutes. A snack is provided midday. After the first meal MCPA has scheduled classes throughout the day in which they are encouraged but not required to participate. Participants also have the option of participating in group games, activities, attending fieldtrips and social outings. After everybody comes back to the center, they are served their second meal and are discharged to their transportation.

What is an adult day care?

Adult day programs provide care for older adults and persons with disabilities in a structured group environment.
